Notes on Powder Performance

Note 1: With a reduced charge of IMR 4166 (23.4 grains) at 80°F, muzzle velocity was 2714 FPS (SD 19) with 77 grain Sierra MatchKing bullets compared to 2708 FPS (SD 23) for 23.9 grains of Varget. n=10

Note 2: An online source (Laurie Holland, July 31, 2021 LINK) indicates that N140 is being upgraded to be more temperature stable. The lot number on my N140 suggests that it was manufactured in 2017, even though I bought it in 2020. There may currently be a more temperature stable version of N140 on the market.
