Lower Antelope Canyon Tour. I took the earliest 6:45AM tour. A Japanese tour of about 45 was broken up into three groups of 15 and I went through in the middle with my tour guide. This was run by Dixie’s Lower Antelope Canyon Tours. Photography tours through the canyon are no longer offered.
Lower Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon formed by millions of years of water and wind erosion in Navajo sandstone that formed during the Jurassic Period during arid weather. Flash floods account for the tortuous rounded surfaces. The fine gradations are further weathered by wind-blown sand through the canyon.
