EF
85 f/1.8 vs EF 100 f/2 vs EF 135 f/2
Is
there a detectable difference in perspective?
Each row contains a photograph of a mannequin taken with 85mm, 100mm and 135 mm lens. Apertures used were f/2, f/2.8 and f/4. Click here to learn more about the conditions under which these photographs were shot and cropped.
Can you tell
which image in each row was shot with the 85mm, the 100mm or the 135mm
lens?
I asked site viewers in 2001 to send me their
best estimates of which image was taken with which lens. The highest
response I received was 64% before I posted the key
here in a pdf file. Most responders could pick out the images taken
with the 135mm lens. Differentiation of images taken with the 100mm lens
versus the 85mm was close to the level obtained if they were chosen at
random.
